NRL: Storm back to winning ways against Sea Eagles

Melbourne Storm returned to winning ways as they defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 28-8 on Thursday night.

The Storm are priced at 14/5 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and after suffering back-to-back defeats against Penrith and the Cowboys, they were in need of a win.

Munster the star

They did just that when shooting down the Sea Eagles as star playmaker Cameron Munster ran the show. He scored a try in each half and set up another to answer the critics in fine style.

Melbourne were without Ryan Papenhuyzen and Harry Grant but welcomed back the influential No.7 Jahrome Hughes, who made a big difference. And coach Craig Bellamy was delighted to see his side return to winning ways.

DCE backs Manly to cope without Trbo

"We competed really well and didn't seem to panic and showed a lot of patience," Bellamy said. "I thought we were pretty dominant in the first half; we left a couple of tries out there.

"I really liked the way we started the second half, we had plenty of intent about our running and the desire with our defence. It's a nice way to start the weekend."

Hasler disappointed

The defeat capped a miserable week for the Sea Eagles who have confirmed that star fullback Tom Trbojevic will be missing for the rest of the season.

"We just don't give ourselves a chance, we don't set it up, we don't execute well enough," Hasler said. "We're disappointing in a number of areas."

Manly now also have concerns over Dylan Walker who picked up a knee injury and is now waiting to discover the full extent of the damage.
