Melbourne Storm have secured the future of centre Reimis Smith, while uncapped teenager Jack Howarth has also penned a lengthy contract.
The Storm are priced at 9/2 to win the 2022 NRL premiership and make up for the disappointment of losing last season's preliminary final to eventual winners the Penrith Panthers.
Smith had his best season yet in 2021 following his move from the Canterbury Bulldogs when scoring 14 tries in 24 games and the Storm were keen to extend his deal.
The strike centre was under contract for 2022 but the new deal will take him through until at least the end of the 2024 campaign and he could not be happier.

"I'm extremely happy," Smith told reporters on Thursday. "I'm very grateful to this club and what they've done for me so far. I'm looking forward to the future.
"I wouldn't want to be at any other club but the Storm."
Meanwhile 19-year-old Howarth, who can play centre or back row, has yet to make his first-grade debut, but it is only a matter of time before he does.
The Storm have plenty of faith in the youngster and have shown it by getting him tied to a contract that will run until the end of 2027.
"I'm looking forward to playing a lot more this year and developing my game even more," Howarth said. "The dream is to wear the purple jersey in the NRL and it's getting closer but there's still a lot of work ahead.
"My future is sorted now with a great club for a few more years and I can fully focus in on my footy."
