Esports: Summit on quality of top laners in LCK

South Korean and Cloud9 talent Park "Summit" Woo-tae is looking forward to facing fellow top laners from his native country in the LCS this season but does not believe there are "a lot of good top laners left" in his home country in the LCK.

In the LCS Spring, Cloud9 are 8/11 to win their next contest against Team Liquid, who are 1/1 to prevail.

"Summit" was speaking about his new division - North America's LCS - having moved to Cloud9 in November 2021.

And his team have made a surprisingly strong start to the campaign, going 2-0 in the opening weekend of the regional event with wins over Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses.

Earlier this year they also progressed well at the LCS Lock In, finishing with a 3-1 record in the group stage before advancing to the semi-finals of the competition.

And, as the season progresses, former Afreeca Freecs, SANDBOX Gaming and Liiv SANDBOX "Summit" is looking forward to facing other South Korean top laners on the LCS stage, claiming the pool of such players in the LCK is weak.

In the weekend just gone, he faced top laners Eric "Licorice" Ritchie and Jeong "Impact" Eon-young.

Summit speaks after Impact clash

Speaking after the latest weekend of action to Inven Global, "Summit" said: "After playing against "Impact" today, I felt a significant difference between him and the top laners native to North America that I've played against so far.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the Korean top laners in the LCS and playing against them, too."

Asked about potential top lakers from the LEC, LCK or LPL he would like to face at Worlds later this year, he added: "I don't think there are a lot of good top laners left in the LCK. With that being said, I want to try to play against Alphari."
