The Green Bay Packers are finally in London and the New York Jets finally believe in Zach Wilson, but will either have success in Week 5's Sunday slate?
Teddy Bridgewater can take his chance as Tua Tagovailoa's injury replacement when Miami head to MetLife Stadium and the Giants might not be the pushover everyone thinks they are in the early game.
What: | New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers |
Where: | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, UK |
When: | 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m PT Sunday, October 9th |
How to watch: | NFL Network, Streaming via fuboTV |
Odds: | NY Giants +290 vs GB Packers -370 |
All eyes are on Daniel Jones for this International Series clash in London with the Giants quarterback trending towards being fine to start after suffering an ankle injury last week.
New York need him to be under center because backup Tyrod Taylor did not clear concussion protocol, despite making the transatlantic trip, so Jones is the first, last and only option if Big Blue are to be competitive.
They start on the same 3-1 mark as the Packers, but cannot escape accusations of being phoneys after squeezing out their three wins against struggling franchises with even-bigger quarterback problems.
Green Bay, who play outside the US for the first time, are certainly not that - although Aaron Rodgers has not shown MVP form thus far due to fewer offensive weapons at his disposal.
The Packers were just gashed on the ground at home and an extra large dose of Giants RB Saquon Barkley could keep it closer than the +8.0 Spread, at -110.
The Giants also know more about London games, which have thrown up some thrilling finishes recently, so this could go Green Bay's way by less than a touchdown.
What: | Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets |
Where: | MetLife Stadium, New Jersey |
When: | 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT Sunday, October 9th |
How to watch: | CBS, Streaming via Paramount+ |
Odds: | MIA Dolphins -170, NY Jets +150 |
The New York Jets came through in the clutch at Pittsburgh last week, but will face a much sterner test from a Miami Dolphins team hurting from losing their unbeaten status to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Fins, who will start Bridgewater at QB instead of Tagovailoa after his horrible exit from last week's 27-15 loss, have a few other key players banged up but expected to play - such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Xaven Howard.
The question is can Robert Saleh's young team exploit those issues enough to stop a run of 12 consecutive defeats within their division.
Zach Wilson led the team superbly in the fourth quarter against the Steelers, showing what he can do with weapons once the injury rust has come off.
But Bridgeater is a capable NFL player with a 33-30 record as a starter and an unreal ATS record of 24-6 when playing on the road.
Don't let those stats sway you away from taking the improving Jets with the points in this spot, but a better option might be to take the Over 45.0 Total at +110.

What: | Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Rams |
Where: | SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California |
When: | 4.25 p.m. ET/1.25 pm PT Sunday, October 9th |
How to watch: | Fox, Streaming via fuboTV |
Odds: | DAL Cowboys +205, LA Rams -245 |
In Zack Martin's eight-plus seasons with the Cowboys, the offensive guard has more Pro Bowl selections (7) than he has holding penalties (6), and his presence on the interior will be crucial in keeping Aaron Donald's arms off his quarterback on Sunday.
The Super Bowl champions are being written off in some quarters after their two early-season defeats to the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, but it seems a little premature when you cast your mind back to their 2021 campaign.
Clearly, Sean McVay needs to flick the switch on the Rams' playoff mode and QB Matthew Stafford is definitely under the microscope after his sloppy start.
Counterpart Cooper Rush is 4-0 in his last four starts and playing well enough to keep the Cowboys from putting Dak Prescott back in before he really should be.
Rush has developed great chemistry with receiver Ceedee Lamb, the team's leader in receptions (23), receiving yards (288) and receiving touchdowns (two) this season.
If that combination matches the production of the Stafford-Cooper Kupp link-up going the other way, this game could be decided by which defense makes the most plays and the Cowboys have Micah Parsons to help them do that.
