The Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears made two of the most splashy pre-deadline trades last week with the respective acquisitions of Bradley Chubb and Chase Claypool.
Their new weapons will be showcased when they face off in a Week 9 clash at Soldier Feld that kicks off a Sunday slate also featuring key games for star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.
What: | Miami Dolphins @ Chicago Bears |
Where: | Soldier Field, Chicago |
When: | 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT Sunday, November 6th |
How to watch: | CBS, Streaming via Paramount+ |
Odds: | MIA Dolphins -210, CHI Bears +175 |
The Dolphins remain all in for a run at the Super Bowl after trading for one of the best off-the-ball linebackers in the game and immediately handing him a five-year contract extension.
By trading away their first-round pick in 2023 for Chubb, Miami gave Tua Tagovailoa a huge stamp of approval as they clearly don't envisage the need to shop around for another quarterback in the near future.
They also added another offensive weapon in former San Francisco running back Jeff Wilson, who averaged 4.4 yards per attempt in five seasons in the 49ers zone scheme and now reunites with his old running game coordinator Mike McDaniel and fellow backfield star Raheem Mostert.
Although the Bears landed Claypool, Chicago were net exporters last week after parting with Robert Quinn and Roquan Smith - two big defensive leaders and playmakers.
After throwing the ball around for a third game of 350+ yards on the season last week, the Fins might be slowed down a little by the Bears' fifth-ranked pass defense.
But that's where the ground game, which has put up 428 yards rushing in the past four weeks, should kick in and power the visitors to a victory with Miami good enough to cover the -4.5 point Spread at -110.

What: | Los Angeles Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers |
Where: | Raymond James Stadium, Tampa |
When: | 4.25 p.m. ET/1.25 pm PT Sunday, November 6th |
How to watch: | CBS, Streaming via Paramount+ |
Odds: | LA Rams +130, TB Buccaneers -150 |
This was meant to be a playoff precursor, but it now looks like being a battle for survival in the surprising NFC with one or both of these teams facing potential must-win games before December.
The Rams have attracted plenty of money in this spot because the Bucs have failed to cover against the spread in each of their last six games, during which the NFC South champions' record has gone from 2-0 to 3-5.
There is now a real chance that Brady's final season in pewter and red does not end in glory, but he and his inconsistent team will be keyed up for this rematch of January's Divisional Round clash.
Four of the Rams' last five games have stayed under the point total and with three Week 1 starters on their offensive line out, Los Angeles' banged-up QB Matthew Stafford may struggle to get the ball out to Cooper Kupp - who is questionable to play.
This looks one to take the under 42.5 point Total at -110.
What: | Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs |
Where: | Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City |
When: | 8.20 p.m. ET/5.20 pm PT Sunday, November 7th |
How to watch: | NBC, Streaming via fuboTV+ |
Odds: | TEN Titans +475. KC Chiefs -650 |
Mahomes has no such issues with offensive miscues and he could wreak havoc on a Titans defense that has not faced an elite quarterback since Josh Allen hung 41 points and four TD passes on them in Week 2.
Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill was limited in practice on Friday and it will likely be a game-time decision whether he starts on Sunday or if rookie Malik Willis - who completed six of a mere ten pass attempts last week - stays under center.
Derrick Henry will carry the load on offense, but the Chiefs' run defense is stout - allowing just 92.0 rushing yards per game.
At home and coming off a bye against a team facing their second road game in a row, the Chiefs have a big edge here and can cover the -12.5 point Spread at -110.
