The Gold Coast Suns are sweating on the fitness of young forward Ben King who suffered a suspected ACL injury in training on Thursday.
The Suns are priced at 11/2 to reach the top eight and play finals in the 2022 campaign but they might have to do it with King if their worst fears are realised.
The 21-year-old suffered the knee injury in training on Thursday morning when during a marking contest with draftee Mac Andrew he crumpled to the ground just before jumping.
There were immediate concerns from teammates and the medical staff who quickly surrounded him and helped him from the training pitch before sending him for scans on Thursday afternoon.

Speaking after undergoing the scans King was putting on a brave face and said he was keeping his fingers crossed for better than expected news.
"We'll just have to wait and see but fingers crossed," he told the Nine Network. "They've (emotions) settled a bit. That's just footy. Get injured, that's just part of it."
Earlier in the day Gold Coast football performance manager Wayne Campbell said nothing more can be done until they get the scan results back.
"Ben left the field with an injury and was assessed by club medical staff at the time," he told reporters. "Ben will get scans this afternoon and we’ll wait on the results of those before taking any further action."
2022 was set to be a big year for King as he is out of contract at the end of the season and a number of clubs in Victoria have been showing an interest in trying to lure him away.
