Esports: T1 star unsure on latest updates

Bot laner Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong of League of Legends side T1 has shared his thoughts on how the latest patch (12.2) will impact pro play.

In the LCK Spring, meanwhile, T1 are 4/7 to defeat Nongshim RedForce, who are 5/4 to come out on top.

Striding forward in the Spring Split

T1 currently lead the way in the LCK Spring Split 2022, having won all four of their matches in the tournament so far and dropping only one game in the process.

In weeks one and two, they have already accounted for Kwangdong Freecs, Fredit BRION, DRX and Liiv SANDBOX.

However, week three marks the start of patch 12.2 coming into effect and T1's "Gumayusi" has had mixed feelings about changes.

Developers Riot Games firstly confirmed in the new patch that the Chemtech dragon would be removed from the game due to the Chemtech soul and fog effect being overpowered.

Additionally, the new patch also marked the release of a new marksman champion - Zeri - who some, including "Gumayusi", have labelled as too weak.

Gumayusi gives his thoughts

In an interview with Inven Global, "Gumayusi" shared his thoughts on the latest changes.

Regarding the Chemtech dragon removal, he said: "It's definitely hard for the losing team because the [Chemtech] fog limits a lot of vision. As for the soul... the revive effect isn't that strong."

And as for the new marksman champion Zeri, he added: "I don't think she's that good. Even if she becomes available in pro play, I don't think people are going to pick her in her current state.

"Her autoattack mechanism isn't that appealing and I don't think she's a great fit in the current meta."
