Reinsman Jack Trainor is keen to take advantage of a good barrier draw when Krug contests the Paleface Adios Stakes at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night.
Trainor and Krug missed out on the opportunity to go straight into the field for the Chariots of Fire following a disappointing run last week but will get the chance to make amends.
Krug will go in race seven and after landing barrier one Trainor is keen to take full advantage by leading all the way.
"The horse is well and I certainly plan to use that good barrier and make the most of it,' said Trainor.

Krug will need to finish in the top four to qualify for next week's $250,000 Chariots of Fire and Trainor is still kicking himself for missing the opportunity last week.
Trainor felt he was to blame for the loss but a phone call from New Zealand trainer Cran Dalgety helped to get his head back in the game.
"I had a nice message from Cran, telling me to keep my head up and the sun would still rise tomorrow and we’ll get ‘em next week," Trainor told National Trotguide.
"I did blame myself and there was a half a gap there which I tried to take Krug into and it was my fault he galloped. We sometimes forget they’re horses, not robots and it didn’t come off."
Meanwhile Trainor has also allayed concerns over the fact Krug will be racing for a third successive Saturday night ahead of the Chariots.
"I think Cran was planning to give him another start before the Chariots anyway," Trainor said. "So, it doesn’t change his preparation all that much.
"I just have to go out there and make sure we get the job done tonight."
