Tony Popovic watched Melbourne Victory defeat Macarthur FC 3-1 on Friday night but then called on his players to be even more ruthless in front of goal.
Victory jumped up to fourth place on the ladder ahead of Saturday's A-League fixtures courtesy of the win but Popovic was not completely satisfied.
Victory dominated the opening half and took the lead through Nick D'Agostino when he grabbed his first goal of the game in the 20th minute.
The former Perth Glory star made it 2-0 before the break with a close-range finish and then Marco Rojas got his first goal of the season to wrap up the points in the 58th minute.

Popa left to rue sloppy mistakes
Popovic's men then squandered a host of other chances to make the scoreline even more impressive. And to make matters worse they allowed Apostolos Giannou to score a 90th-minute consolation.
Victory now have a big run of games coming up as they play seven in 23 days and Popovic says they need to be even more ruthless during that spell.
"Overall, we deserved to win and that doesn't always come to fruition," Popovic told reporters after the game. "But it was nice to see that a dominant performance led to three points today.
"You always want it to be better and I wanted a clean sheet in the end. I wanted more goals because at 3-0 you don't always get those opportunities to really put someone away.
"We missed some chances to get another two or three goals so that's something we've got to improve."
