Lachlan Wales says committing his future to Western United was an easy decision to make after he put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal with the club.
Western are priced at 7/2 to win the A-League minor premiership and are currently sitting pretty at the top of the ladder following an electric start to the season.
New boss John Aloisi has made an immediate impact at Western who finished last season in 10th place on the ladder, and Wales has played a key role.
The 24-year-old has played in all 12 games so far this season and believes Western United is the place to be under the leadership of Aloisi.

"It was a pretty easy decision. With John (Aloisi) coming to the Club, the culture that we’re trying to build here, you can already see what a difference it’s made on and off the pitch," he told the club's website.
"He’s been massively important to me. He’s really believed in me, starting me every match. To have someone believe in you and give you confidence to express yourself every weekend is really important."
The feeling is also mutual as Aloisi has been delighted with the performances of Wales and believes there is much more to come from the player.
"Lachie was always going to be a big part of my plans here and I’ve been so pleased with what he’s given us as a team this season," Aloisi added. "Off the pitch, his character, his attitude, the camaraderie and banter with the boys is just as important as his talent, which is obviously plentiful.
"He’s still very young and has a lot of improvement left in him, and I can’t wait to see that improvement happen right here with us at Western United."
