Sydney Roosters starlet Sam Walker says Trent Robinson’s side are heading in the right direction but there is plenty more improvement to come.
The Roosters are priced at 7/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and sit 4-2 for the season after seeing off the Warriors 22-14 on Sunday.
The Roosters looked to be in danger of slipping to defeat against the Warriors but Walker helped to save the day in the second half as they fought back to win.
The young playmaker scored a try and kicked five goals from five to help get his side over the line.
It was another step in the right direction for the Roosters but Walker says there is much more to come.
"We're building; I still have a lot I want to work on," Walker told reporters ahead of the game.
"I haven't been too happy with the start of the season, I still want to keep building and happy with the way we're going but we definitely need to work on the first 20 and not let so many points in early."
Walker has also quickly turned his attention to the Anzac Day clash against the Dragons at the SCG and is looking forward to playing in front of a large crowd on such an important day.
"It's a really special day, the whole ceremony and what we're representing and the day itself is such a special day,” he added.
"I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere and the Roosters fans getting back out here to the SCG, it's a historic ground itself and to be able to play the game at this ground just makes it even more special."
