NRL: Warriors land Roosters starlet

The New Zealand Warriors have completed the signing of Sydney Roosters halfback Ronald Volkman who has penned a three-year deal from the start of 2023.

The Warriors are priced at 12/5 to make finals in the 2022 NRL campaign and have pulled off something of a coup to get Volkman on board.

Warriors pull off a coup

Volkman is one of the hottest prospects in the NRL and the Warriors had to fight off interest from a host of clubs to get him on board.

It is the latest impressive signing made by the Warriors. Manly centre Dylan Walker is among the players who will join the Warriors from 2023.

The Warriors are delighted to get Volkman on board and say he is the future of the club.

"Ronald is an exceptional young talent who will add another dimension to our squad,” Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges told the club’s website.

“When we signed Reece Walsh around this time last year, he hadn’t played in the NRL but it was obvious he would very soon and make an immediate impact.

“Ronald is the same. He has wonderful skills and is just waiting for his chance in the NRL.”

Quality Roosters

Volkman has decided to leave the Roosters after seeing his pathway to the first-team blocked by a list of quality playmakers.

The Roosters already boast the likes of Luke Keary, Sam Walker, Drew Hutchinson and Lachlan Lam and Volkman would struggle to get a game.
