Western United defender Josh Risdon says they will once again embrace the underdog tag when they take Melbourne City in the A-League grand final.
Western are priced at 9/4 to win the big dance which would complete a remarkable season under the leadership of new head coach John Aloisi.
No-one outside of the four walls of the club gave Western a chance of making finals this season, but they are now just one step away from winning the grand final.
To do that they will have to beat a Melbourne City side that are chasing a back-to-back premiership/championship double. But they have been upsetting the odds all season and Risdon suggests they enjoy being underdogs.

"We love the underdog tag. We've had it all year; I don't think anyone tipped us at the start of the year to even be in the finals," Risdon told reporters. "We'll ride that tag again on the weekend and with the bunch of boys we've got, when no one is backing us, we get up for it and prove people wrong."
Western have only been in the A-League for three seasons which would make a grand final victory even more remarkable.
"It would mean a lot to the club," Risdon added. "We've seen where the club's come from, it started from nothing and in three short years we've made a grand final. A lot of people at the club have put in a lot of hard effort and have a big vision for where the club's going to go."
