Sydney FC defender Michael Zullo has confirmed his departure from the club following two seasons of frustration with a calf injury.
Zullo has not made an appearance for the Sky Blues since the opening game of the 2020/21 campaign after struggling to return from injury and leaves the club after his contract ran out.
Despite all the injury frustration over the last two seasons, Zullo enjoyed most of his six-year stay with the club. Indeed he won three championships and three premierships so leaves with plenty of happy memories.
Zullo has not confirmed he is retiring from the game but he will return to Brisbane to be closer to his family while he weighs up his next step.

"Everyone here has seen what I've been through over the last couple of years and they know that I've done absolutely everything I can to get fit again," Zullo said. "Unfortunately it just hasn't happened.
"The club have been amazing in giving me all the support I've needed but I've felt that I've been draining resources without being able to give back and contribute to the season.
"I'm a little bit disappointed that I haven't been able to leave the club in the right way, but at the same time I'm very happy about the good times we've had over the last six years and it's been a life changing period for me."
Zullo will not be the only departure from the club with further exits set to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
